Falling into Autumn at Little Woods

The fits and starts of fall in Iowa can make it difficult to know when to release what and how to feature our favorite flavors. Some days are extremely hot and even in October, still feeling like summer, too hot to garden and misquotes everywhere. Then the literal next day is a cold rain blowing in from the north and has us kicking on the heat and scrambling for wool socks, our fluffiest cat friends, and hot pots of tea. Keeps us nimble.

Summer seems finally to be losing its grip and sweaters are becoming more common. The last few months we have indulged in all our favorite iced tea drinks from Sparkling Rosemary Lemonade (Crush it Tisane) to Thai Iced Tea made from scratch. Just yesterday a guest came in and, with just a little hope in their voice asked “you don’t still have thai iced tea do you?” Sadly the answer is no, it’s one we’ve retired to make room for mulled cider and hot cocoa blends. We do still have kits so you can enjoy Thai Tea year round.

Even our teamisu has changed over to a richer more cold weather vibe: Hojicha Chocolate Ganache.

The last hold out from summer at the tea bar is Nitro. We will keep it on tap so long as folks keep enjoying it, though we have downsized our keg from 5 gallons to 1.5 gallons. Right now we are loving Twilight Black Tea on tap and I hear rumors there may be a spiced pear tea in the works. Yum!

There are still so many fall teas and spices we look forward to everyday, but hot or iced truly depends on the weather. Here is quick list of our favorite teas that work excellent this time of year because they are equally good iced or hot.

Enjoy all the weather this week has to offer, and don’t worry, we’ll have a tea brewing that’s just right for each day and just right for you too.

Until Next Time,
